Who'd Want To Be a Turkey
Some quick updates about all things George as we head into Thanksgiving week
As you get ready to load up with your friends and families for the big feast on Thursday, let’s get caught up on some past and present news about Parliament | Funkadelic | George Clinton.
Say what you will about Kamala’s politics, her taste in music is impeccable. This pic is from back in the day.
George has shown his sartorial splendor onstage and off in more ways than almost any of his contemporaries, and he has been portrayed in more ways than we can count. This item recently floated across the radar screen of The Mothership; it looks like George is ready for some extra-terrestrial behavior.
If you are in SoCal and ready on Friday to shake off some of the pounds you may be packing on the day before, our favorite FM station is recommending attending the George Clinton and P-Funk concert in Los Angeles. We could not agree more!
Check out that funky faux fur that George is sporting to keep himself toasty as the temperature drops.
We still have a few items from the vaults that we are giving away while supplies last. For a limited time only WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, all orders over $30 will get a T-shirt, a poster, a One Nation Under a Groove collectible coin or a laminate. These items are available in strictly limited quantities and once gone they are gone Daddy gone. So head over here and solve lots of your holiday gift giving activity early.
Did you ever get in trouble in school for doodling? I did, and boy was I bummed out. I was doing pretty good in that class. George is the kinda artist who was always doodling. He has some wonderful art coming out of his studio, not just the musical kind of art. His fine art has been shown at galleries around the world. And when he chose two of his favorite portraits, he doodled on each one.
Each print has been personally signed and numbered by George Clinton along with photographer Neal Preston, in a closed edition of 25. Each is a museum quality fine art archival pigment print. George with rainbow hair is from October 1992. George with with the red background and glasses is from March 1977. More information here.
Tell Santa which one you want for Christmas, or better yet get one for yourself and give the other to your funkiest friend.
This may be our favorite display so far of these prints.
We have been asking for your most played song from George’s seemingly endless songbook. Robert reports “Can You Get To That?” would be most played, next to "Maggot Brain" and "You And Your Folks..."
What’s yours?
