Dress Up For Halloween and Jump on The Mothership
If we all dressed like members of Parliament Funkadelic, wouldn't the world be a better place?
You may be getting ready for Halloween and searching for costume ideas. Imagine how easy it is for George this time of year? His wardrobe is easily the most funky and most outrageous you have never seen. Maybe in a future installment we will take a peek inside, let us know if that’s a good idea.
Indeed, fashion has always been central to George’s ethos. It is doubtful you have seen him in the same outfit twice. He has brought his artistic eye to the fashion world in outrageous ways. He has so far done two collaborations with noted shoe designer John Fluevog. Both collabs sold out quickly. There are rumors of a third collaboration to meet fan demand AND to give George yet another creative outlet.
George recently went north of the border to join John Fluevog and a huge gathering of fans in Toronto at Flummunity Fest. Check out this report from the Toronto Star.
See that funky faux fur George is wearing? You can have one too. George and Market have collaborated on some very funky items, Check ‘em out here.
George approves everything that goes out, and his artistic eye can be seen in some funky designs.

Speaking of holiday gifts, you might want to let your favorite Santa know that you’d really like one of the limited edition fine art photography prints. George hand signed each one (and drew his patented Atomic Dog!) on each museum quality print. These gorgeous prints are 20” x 24” and come with free shipping.
By now you know that George is considered the progenitor of funk, but he also calls attention to his friend Sly Stone as an important part of the world of funk. Last week George appeared on CBS Sunday Morning to testify to Sly’s role in funk. Questlove wants you to check it out here.
George said Sly and The Family Stone was “like seeing the Black version of The Beatles.” Sly’s perfectly titled biography has just been published “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin): A Memoir.” Written with Ben Greenman, who has also worked on memoirs with George Clinton and Brian Wilson, the book features a foreword from Questlove.
I am getting down on it as soon as I send y’all this message!
Sly is almost a mirror image of Bill Withers, they were both huge and have songs 90% of Americans know, and both ended up as "holy shit, that guy's still alive" guys. They "retired" in the sense they didn't crash and burn, it was more of a controlled descent when diverted to another airport.
Sly is fire! I was lucky enough to discover his live stuff via YouTube wandering. He's also one of those guys *constantly* mentioned by other musicians in almost godlike terms..
